Winter Close down.

Visit 1

One of our engineers will visit site and carry out a prepool shut down service which includes the following:

  • Turn off the pool heating system winterise and put on the heat pumps winter cover winter cover.
    (if you don’t  have a pump we can provide a quote should you require one.)
  • Backwash the filter.
  • Carry out a water treatment test and then shock the pool water to (10 ppm – 30 ppm) dependent on the pool construction and the water clarity.

Visit 2

Two of our engineers will visit site and carry out the pool shut down service 7 – 14 days after the prepool shut down service has been carried out.

You may ask why we do this?

In order for the pool shut down to be effective and to minimise the risk of the pool turning green it`s advised that the pool temperature is lowered to 10- 15 degrees before winterising the pool, once this has been done the engineers will carry out the pool shut down which includes the following:

  • Reel the solar cover on to the reel system and put the reflective storage winter cover on. (A reflective storage cover will help prolong the life of the cover, if you would like us to quote for one please speak to the service department or engineer on site.).
  • Vac the pool to waste vacuuming up all the debris on the bottom of the pool.
  • Drain the pool down below the skimmer turn the skimmer ball valve off and add the multi-functional algicide to the pool leaving the pool on circulate.
  • Retrieve the winter cover from the store in preparation to place over the pool.
  • Place the winter cover on the pool fix down and check for and damage.
  • If there is any damage or items need replacing  the engineer will discuss the options available with you.

Visit 3

One of our engineers will visit site and carry out a winter health check service which includes the following:

  • Check pool water and chemistry levels.
  • Drain if required to waste vacuuming up any debris on the bottom of the pool.
  • Shut down pump and shock the pool water to (10 ppm – 30 ppm) dependent on the pool construction and the water clarity.

Spring Opening

Visit 4

Two of our engineers will visit site and carry out the pool opening service in the spring which includes the following:

  • Clean off the winter debris cover, fold up and put away into the store.
  • Check the pool water levels and top up as required.
  • Connect and switch on pump and filter to ensure all is operational. Confirm there are no leaks or damage to the pipework and connections.
  • Uncover the heat pump and connect pipework. Test to ensure system is functional.
  • Vacuuming any debris on the bottom of the pool.
  • Add multi-functional algicide  as required. Leave the pool on filtration. (Pump may be switched to timer if water is clear and balanced.)
  • Check the pool water chemistry and add necessary water treatment products to correct chemistry levels.
  • Take off the solar cover reflective winter storage and put into store.
  • Clean the pool solar cover and install.
  • Clean up around the pool before leaving.
